Description

A small experiment for keeping calm and de-stressing. Short playlists are created around a theme or prompt (or current state of mind) and sketches are drawn to the playlist, all 800x800px, drawn in Manga Studio 5. As a starting point, all sketches have to include a grey hoodie.

Sketch #1 (Night Walk): Blur - Coffee And TV, Placebo - Meds, Acen - Trip II The Moon (part 2), Klippa - Dark Niagara Nights, Aero Chord - Surface, Sub Focus - Coming Closer, Alena - Turn It Around

Sketch #2 (Innerspace): Oceanlab - On A Good Day, Subscape - A Lot To Learn, Orbital - Halcyon, Aphex Twin - Flim, Luke Terry ft. Helen Sylk - A Lighter Shade Of Blue, Oscillator Z - The Miles

Sketch #3 (Monster): The Chemical Brothers - Setting Sun, Feint ft. CoMa - Snake Eyes, Dirt Devils - The Drill (Evacuation mix), Jackal Queenston - Diurnal, The Prodigy - Spitfire, Oscillator Z - Long Live The New Flesh

Sketch #4 (Oceanhead): Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill, The Flaming Lips - In The Morning Of The Magicians, Direct - Parallax, Donkey Kong Country - Aquatic Ambiance, 311 - Amber, Daft Punk - Voyager

Sketch #5 (Red Rain): Deep Dish - Say Hello, Ellie Goulding - Little Dreams (Zomboy Remix), BT - Every Other Way (Armin Van Buuren Remix), Reflekt ft. Delline Bass - Need To Feel Loved (Adam K & Soha Remix), Olive - You’re Not Alone

Very interesting experiment! I used to do something similar for writing exercises; listen to a song, and have a short plot premise derived from it by the time it ended. I dig the additional challenge of every one of those having to feature a gray hoodie (any particular reason for that?) Very emotional, expressive sketches nonetheless. The second has to be my favorite hands down, quite poetic...The fourth sketch would come at a second place, very peaceful, and yet mysterious...All of these have an exotic quality to it. I better listen to the songs that inspired them, see what atmosphere they transmit!
